BUDGET 2020: CHANCELLOR ANNOUNCES CONSULTATION TO REMOVE RED DIESEL ENTITLEMENT

11 MARCH 2020

RED DIESEL HMRC CONSULTATION

Dear Members,

There's an important development in the red diesel story.  HMRC has issued a consultation document aimed at users in the marine environment including direct questions to yourselves. You may wish to consider whether you want to respond.

You can find the consultation from the following:

  • July Article from the RYA- hotlink below  "HM Revenue and Customs launches red diesel consultation"

            https://www.rya.org.uk/newsevents/news/Pages/hmrc-consultation-diesel.aspx?utm_campaign=RYA+Cruising+News+-+August+2019&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_content=&utm_medium=email

  • In the RYA article a hotlink to HMRC as below

            https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/implementation-of-the-court-of-justice-of-the-european-union-cjeu-judgment-on-diesel-fuel-used-in-private-pleasure-craft

  • In the HMRC consultation find a PDF with direct questions -  hotlink in consultation document worded as follows (below is not a Hotlink)

"Implementation of the Court of Justice of the European Union judgement

on diesel fuel used in private pleasure craft"

See particularly Chapter 5 questions 9-19 of the PDF. I hope this helps. I have repeated this information on our website.  PMBHA.co.uk

Regards,

Jan
